War and Justice is the first and only true-life verité thriller, about the International Criminal Court (ICC), enlightened by unprecedented access to Benjamin Ferencz (prosecuting attorney of the Nuremberg Trials), Luis Moreno-Ocampo (ICC’s first prosecutor), and Karim Khan (its current prosecutor). The film opens with the ICC’s news-breaking arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin in the midst of the escalating Ukraine war, charging him with crimes against humanity. With the three largest world powers — China, Russia and the United States — still unwilling to sign the ICC treaty, will wars of aggression ever be brought to justice?

On 14 September 1962, 29 people fled from East to West Berlin through a 1,500-foot long tunnel. A group of West Berlin students escaped in in a daring operation, dug the tunnel in months of work. Even though the German Federal Bureau of Investigation („Verfassungsschutz“) and the American Secret Service were informed about the escape tunnel, the tunnel builders were able to keep it secret from the GDR state security. The tunnel construction was sponsored and documented by NBC, an American film company, and has gone to history as Tunnel 29.

Two young German film makers go to Palestine where, together with Manal,a Palestinian student from Jenin, they try to find out what really happened on March 31 2002: Shadi Tobassi, a suicide bomber from Jenin, blew himself up in the Arab-owned Matza Restaurant in Haifa, killing 15 people. Among those killed was Dov Chernobroda, an Israeli architect, who for his entire life had tried to bring about a peaceful settlement between Israel and Palestine. Eight years later his wife Yael would like to visit the family of the suicide bomber in Jenin.
